About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential diversified services organization in the Chicago area. Our client operates food service and care divisions across high-traffic commercial locations. We're seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support procurement operations, vendor coordination, and order management in a fully remote capacity.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with suppliers, tracking orders, and supporting internal teams from a home office environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with purchase order creation and routine purchasing activities
- Communicate with vendors regarding orders, pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor documentation
- Track orders and follow up on outstanding or delayed deliveries
- Review purchasing information for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with internal teams on purchasing needs and requests
- Help resolve routine order discrepancies or vendor issues
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, administration, operations, or a similar support role
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and follow-up abilities
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and digital systems
- Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously
- Reliable internet connection and dedicated workspace for remote work
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred:
- Direct purchasing or procurement experience
- Familiarity with purchase orders, inventory systems, or vendor management
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets
- Background in food service, retail, hospitality, or distribution environments
