About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a talented (Senior) Sustainability Manager to join their Product Management team in Munich. Our client is building sophisticated solutions that help organizations navigate the evolving ESG landscape and meet complex sustainability reporting requirements.

In this role, you'll work at the intersection of product development, regulation, and customer needs—driving the evolution of sustainability management software with a particular focus on CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and European reporting frameworks. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to translate regulatory developments into valuable product capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of sustainability reporting software capabilities, with particular focus on CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and related European frameworks
  • Translate complex regulatory developments and market requirements into clear product priorities and structured requirements
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders to deliver customer-centric enhancements
  • Serve as the sustainability subject matter expert for internal teams, particularly Product, Sales, and Customer Success
  • Participate in sales and customer meetings to answer domain-specific questions and guide prospects through sustainability reporting requirements
  • Gather and evaluate customer and market feedback to continuously improve product offerings
  • Monitor developments in the European sustainability reporting landscape and assess their impact on product roadmap

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Professional experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, or sustainable finance, ideally within a software or technology environment
  • Strong knowledge of CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and the European sustainability reporting landscape, plus knowledge of additional reporting frameworks or emerging regulatory developments
  • Experience working with cross-functional product development and customer-facing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into structured product requirements
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German (C2 level) and English (C1 level)
  • Experience with ESG or sustainability reporting software
  • Practical experience using AI productivity tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for sustainability research, regulatory analysis, and product documentation, with a responsible approach to data privacy and output quality
  • Experience supporting customer conversations, product demonstrations, or go-to-market initiatives

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with agile product development methodologies

Location: Munich (hybrid model with flexibility) or remote within Germany
