Working Student – Finance

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential biotech organization in Germany that is seeking a Working Student to support their Finance team. This is a remote position offering hands-on experience in core finance operations including accounts payable, expense management, payroll support, and audit preparation. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams in an international environment while maintaining the flexibility to balance your studies.

Responsibilities

• Process and record incoming invoices with precision and proper documentation
• Manage payment cycles, monitor due dates, and follow up on outstanding invoices
• Reconcile accounts payable to ensure up-to-date financial records
• Review and process employee expense reports ensuring compliance with internal policies
• Support monthly payroll cycles, checking trial payslips against records and flagging discrepancies
• Maintain payroll documentation and personnel files in line with data protection requirements
• Assist in audit preparation by compiling documentation and maintaining audit request lists
• Support preparation of files for audit processes
• Monitor shared finance inbox and route incoming requests appropriately
• Support documentation of finance processes and contribute ideas for process improvement

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a master's university program in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (ideally with focus on Controlling, Accounting, or Treasury)
• First practical experience in Finance through internships or vocational training is highly appreciated
• Strong analytical mindset with a structured, solution-oriented approach to work
• Comfortable taking initiative and working independently in a fast-paced international environment
• Solid skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for working with AI tools (prior experience is a plus)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Clear communication style
• Fluent in English and German
