About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential identity and access management technology company in their search for a Cyber Security Engineer II based in the UK. Our client is a global leader in cloud identity solutions, serving enterprise clients worldwide.

In this role, you will work across enterprise systems and SaaS environments within the Cyber Security Engineering team. You'll be responsible for building and deploying security automation, hardening configurations, providing incident response, and supporting cross-functional teams in designing secure, robust systems. This position is ideal for an experienced Security Operations Centre analyst or Site Reliability Engineer transitioning into Security Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of incident response playbooks
  • Perform incident response and coordination across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Lead assessment of system design and change from a security perspective
  • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation
  • Design, develop, and implement engineered security solutions that are reliable and maintainable
  • Support detection engineering efforts
  • Identify areas requiring security improvement and translate them into workable solutions
  • Influence and align the team's vision and strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support delivery of roadmap items and projects

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Experience with automation within Security Orchestration and Automation tooling, as well as bespoke scripting automation
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, ideally Google Chronicle and YARA-L
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS/GCP
  • Experience working with container technologies, notably Kubernetes and Docker in development and incident response contexts
  • Experience deploying and utilizing Endpoint Detection and Response tools
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects
  • Proven track record conducting and coordinating incident response involving multi-disciplinary teams

Advantageous skills:

  • Golang development and public development projects
  • Knowledge of reverse engineering
  • Threat intelligence utilization and integration into security systems
