About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential managed hosting organization seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their growing team in Hungary. Our client serves over 120,000 businesses worldwide and maintains exceptional customer satisfaction ratings through their commitment to quality and innovation.
As Senior Product Designer, you'll lead product initiatives from concept through UI delivery, working within a small, collaborative Product Design team. You'll report to the Head of Product and partner closely with Research, Product Management, and Development teams. This is a hands-on senior role with opportunity to grow into team leadership while remaining deeply involved in design work.
Your primary focus will be the customer dashboard where users manage their sites, but your scope extends to the full service layer—including internal workflows, customer communications, and supporting tools. You'll work with significant autonomy, making confident decisions while collaborating across functions.
Responsibilities
- Own design projects end-to-end at any scale, from incremental improvements to strategic new capabilities, including concept development, user flows, UI design, release coordination, and post-launch follow-up
- Drive discovery work to define solutions that address real user problems and needs; research competitors and industry best practices
- Collaborate with Research, Product Management, and Development to apply user insights, align on business requirements, and validate technical feasibility
- Write clear design specifications ensuring unambiguous intent; conduct design QA against both intent and the existing design system
- Provide clear rationale for design decisions, resolve cross-functional deadlocks, escalate appropriately for feedback, and communicate trade-offs when priorities compete
- Serve as Project Owner on select initiatives, coordinating progress communication and release management in the absence of dedicated delivery managers
- Maintain deep product expertise including user personas, use cases, and how business requirements translate to UI-level solutions
- Uphold professional design standards in problem-solving, usability, UX, and UI; participate in design critique; help maintain and evolve the design system
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience as a Product or UX Designer
- Proven track record shipping products and features from zero to production with full project autonomy
- Experience in SaaS environments working on technical products within cross-functional teams
- Proficiency across the full design workflow: research, problem definition, facilitation, UI creation, and delivery partnership
- Expert-level proficiency with Figma
- Experience working with and maintaining design systems
- Portfolio including at least one detailed case study demonstrating your process from problem statement through delivered solution—we want to see decision-making rationale, not just final screens
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript); you don't need to write production code, but should understand feasibility and be comfortable inspecting implementations
- Proactive mindset with initiative to identify and act on opportunities without direction
- Professional-level English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with hosting or web infrastructure products
- Background designing for developer or technically-oriented audiences
- Familiarity with the WordPress ecosystem
- Experience mentoring or leading other designers
