About This Role
We are representing a confidential SaaS organization with a strong presence in the developer tools space. They are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their EMEA engineering team in France (remote, CET/CEST hours).
In this role, you'll take ownership of complex technical problems from end to end—designing, building, and shipping full-stack features while raising the engineering bar for the team. You'll combine hands-on coding with technical leadership, driving architecture decisions and collaborating closely with Product and Design.
This is a distributed, remote-first position working asynchronously across EMEA and US time zones.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new full-stack features using React/TypeScript on the frontend and Java, Node.js, or Ruby on the backend
- Leverage AI coding assistants and agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) to accelerate delivery, automate repetitive tasks, and focus on design and review
- Contribute to architectural and technical design decisions within the team
- Write automated tests and ensure code quality through thorough code reviews
- Deploy and monitor your own features in production using GitLab, AWS, and Kubernetes
- Drive continuous improvement of the team's engineering practices
- Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver impactful work
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or lead-level ownership
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Ruby, Node.js), a modern frontend framework (ideally React), and SQL
- Solid experience designing scalable, reliable systems and conducting thorough code reviews
- Comfortable working autonomously in a distributed, remote-first environment
- Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools to ship faster—code generation, agentic workflows, scripting/automation, or building internal tooling on top of LLMs
- Professional working proficiency in English

Pay
Pay via Get A Job.ai: €65,000 – €75,000 base salary (no variable component). Final compensation is based on skills, experience, and location within France.
