About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking an Analyst II, Credit to assess merchant financial and operational risk. This is a remote position based in the UK, working with cross-functional teams to evaluate credit exposure, fraud patterns, and compliance considerations for e-commerce merchants.
As a valued member of our client's risk management function, you will analyze business credit reports, financial statements, and third-party data sources to make informed underwriting decisions. You will also monitor ongoing credit and fraud trends while identifying opportunities to improve merchant risk evaluation processes.
Responsibilities
- Assess brand, compliance, fraud, and financial risk to determine appropriate credit exposure for new and existing merchants
- Evaluate merchant financial health using business credit reports, financial documents, investigative research tools, and financial market data
- Research and integrate new third-party data sources to enhance merchant financial risk assessment
- Monitor credit, fraud, and dispute/chargeback trends across the merchant portfolio
- Identify automation opportunities and process improvements in merchant risk evaluation workflows
- Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams on risk-related inquiries
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in merchant risk assessment functions such as Merchant/Seller Risk Management, Fraud, Collections, or Merchant Underwriting
- Demonstrated experience reviewing financial documents, business credit reports, and payment processor statements
- Strong understanding of e-commerce underwriting and/or commercial lending principles
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners, especially Sales and Business Development teams
- Ownership mentality with strong accountability, urgency, and execution skills
- Prior experience in payments, lending, banking, or financial institutions is a plus
