About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential IT services organization based in Chemnitz, Germany. Our client is seeking an IT System Administrator to join their technical support team. This is not a dead-end support position—it's designed as a growth track where you'll progress from first and second level support into client ownership and technical specialization over time.
You'll work directly with business customers, handling their IT infrastructure across workstations, servers, Microsoft 365, networking, and cloud environments. As you demonstrate capability, you'll take on more complex assignments, dedicated client accounts, and develop expertise in areas like networking, security, virtualization, or cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming support requests from business clients via phone, remote support tools, and on-site visits as needed
- Analyze, prioritize, and resolve issues independently across Windows clients and servers, Microsoft 365, user permissions, networking, printers, and general infrastructure
- Document all work thoroughly in the ticketing system so colleagues can build on your analysis rather than starting from scratch
- Communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users in a respectful, understandable manner
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers with complete information: symptoms, your analysis, and troubleshooting steps already attempted
- Gradually take ownership of second-level topics, dedicated client relationships, and technical specializations as your skills develop
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Completed vocational training in IT (such as Fachinformatiker Systemintegration) or equivalent practical work experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments: Windows clients, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN
- Structured troubleshooting approach—you isolate problems systematically rather than guessing
- Valid German driver's license (Class B) for client site visits
- German language proficiency for client communication
Helpful but not required:
- Experience with ticketing systems, remote support platforms, and user/rights management
- Knowledge of firewalls, virtualization, backup systems, monitoring tools, or cloud platforms
Our client explicitly does not require a long list of certifications. They value your ability to troubleshoot methodically and communicate honestly when you don't know something—both of which become clear in conversation rather than through credentials alone.
How We Work With You
When you apply through Get A Job.ai, one of our recruiters will screen your background and discuss the role in detail. If there's a strong match, we'll submit your profile to our client for consideration. Please do not contact the employer directly—all communication flows through our talent team to ensure a structured process and protect your candidacy.
This role offers genuine professional development. Progression happens based on demonstrated competence rather than predetermined timelines. Training and certifications are discussed based on your interests and actual needs, not from a standard catalog. You'll have direct access to leadership for decisions and process improvements.
Additional benefits include flexible work scheduling, a company vehicle or JobRad arrangement (negotiable), and exposure to diverse client environments rather than a single repetitive infrastructure.
Pay
Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on your experience level.
Equal Opportunity: Get A Job.ai is committed to inclusive recruiting practices. We evaluate all candidates based on qualifications and fit, regardless of background.
