Worldvision seeks an experienced Chief of Party to lead USDA Food for Peace program operations based in Oficina Nacional, El Salvador. This is a full-time position where you will direct strategic program implementation, manage teams, and ensure effective delivery of food security and nutrition initiatives to vulnerable populations across the region.
Role Overview
The Chief of Party serves as the senior manager responsible for overseeing all program activities funded through USDA Food for Peace. Working from our Oficina Nacional office in El Salvador, you will provide strategic leadership, ensure program compliance with donor requirements, and drive results that strengthen food security and community resilience.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage program staff across multiple locations, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with organizational values
- Develop and execute annual workplans that translate organizational strategy into measurable program outcomes
- Oversee financial management, budgeting, and compliance with USDA Food for Peace regulations and donor requirements
- Monitor program performance against indicators and reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission of monitoring reports
- Engage with government counterparts, community leaders, and local partners to strengthen program sustainability
- Represent Worldvision at regional forums, donor meetings, and stakeholder coordination events
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and humanitarian principles
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in international development, social sciences, agriculture, nutrition, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in program management, international development, or humanitarian response
- Proven experience managing USDA-funded programs or other bilateral donor initiatives
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities in multicultural environments
- Fluency in English; Spanish language proficiency highly valued for operations in El Salvador
- Experience in food security, livelihoods, nutrition, or related development sectors
- Demonstrated commitment to transparency, accountability, and safeguarding principles
- Ability to work effectively with government agencies, NGO partners, and community-based organizations
