About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential digital solutions organization seeking a Senior Project Manager specializing in Digital Communications. This role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful CMS-based projects for clients in the public and near-public sectors, working at the intersection of technology, digital communications consulting, creative development, and content strategy.
You'll be based in Köln with flexible remote work options across Germany, managing complex digital projects while building lasting client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Steer demanding digital implementation projects, maintaining scope, budget, quality, and timelines
- Lead CMS-based communication projects including websites, information platforms, and their ongoing development and operation
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams spanning technology, digital communications, UX, design, creative, and content disciplines
- Work directly with clients to understand requirements and challenges, translating them into concrete project goals and deliverable solutions
- Identify new needs and development potentials with existing clients, evolving projects and relationships beyond initial delivery
- Contribute project expertise to proposals, tenders, and pitch processes
- Manage diverse stakeholders confidently, ensuring clarity and accountability even in complex project situations
What We're Looking For
- Several years of experience managing digital implementation projects, ideally involving websites, information platforms, or other CMS-based solutions
- Active approach to project management—you want to shape projects, solutions, and client relationships, not simply administer them
- Genuine interest in understanding client challenges, recognizing potential, and developing suitable solutions with interdisciplinary teams
- Comfort working with both technical teams and creative disciplines (communications, UX, design, content)
- Experience with presales, business development, tenders, or proposal creation is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with both agile and traditional project methodologies; ability to apply them appropriately to each situation (certification is a plus but not mandatory)
- Public sector or public-adjacent industry experience is ideal
- Completed university degree or comparable practical qualification
- Confident communication skills with various stakeholders and excellent German language proficiency (written and spoken)
