Senior Project Manager – Digital Communications (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital solutions consultancy with operations across Germany. Our client seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead digital communications initiatives with a focus on CMS-based platforms, websites, and ongoing operational development. This role sits at the intersection of technology, digital communications consulting, creative services, and content strategy.

You'll work with interdisciplinary teams to deliver complex digital projects while building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for growth. This position is available in Hamburg with flexible remote working options throughout Germany.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex digital delivery projects, managing scope, budget, quality, and timelines with precision
• Oversee CMS-based communications projects including websites, information platforms, and their continuous development and operations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams spanning technology, digital communications, UX, design, creative, and content disciplines
• Partner closely with clients to understand their requirements and challenges, translating these into actionable project goals and solutions
• Identify new opportunities and development potential within existing client relationships beyond project delivery
• Contribute project expertise to proposals, tender responses, and pitches (experience in this area is beneficial but not required)
• Manage diverse stakeholders effectively, ensuring clarity and accountability even in complex project environments

What We're Looking For

• Several years' experience managing digital delivery projects, ideally involving websites, information platforms, or other CMS-based solutions
• A proactive approach to project management—you see it as shaping projects and client relationships, not just administration
• Genuine interest in understanding client challenges, recognizing potential, and developing appropriate solutions with cross-functional teams
• Comfort working with both technical teams and creative disciplines including communications, UX, design, and content
• Familiarity with both agile and traditional project methodologies, applying the right approach for each situation (certification is a plus but not required)
• Experience with public sector or publicly-adjacent organizations is ideal
• University degree or equivalent practical qualification
• Strong communication skills with excellent written and spoken German
• Experience in presales, business development, or proposal creation is advantageous but not essential
