VP, Sports Engineering

Warnerbros is seeking a VP, Sports Engineering to lead our sports technology and engineering organization based in NY New York at 30 Hudson Yards. This is a full-time position where you'll drive the technical vision for sports content, streaming platforms, and engineering infrastructure at a global media and entertainment leader.

Position Summary

As VP, Sports Engineering at Warnerbros, you will oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our sports engineering division. In this full-time role, you'll build and scale high-performing engineering teams, establish technical standards, and deliver cutting-edge solutions for sports content delivery, fan engagement, and platform infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with product, content, and business leaders to align technology initiatives with company goals and market opportunities in the sports and entertainment sector.

Core Duties

• Lead, hire, and mentor a growing team of engineers, architects, and technical specialists
• Develop and execute the engineering roadmap for sports platforms and services
• Establish technical architecture, best practices, and engineering standards across the organization
• Partner with product and business teams to translate strategic priorities into technical requirements and deliverables
• Drive innovation in sports streaming, content delivery, and fan-facing technologies
• Oversee system reliability, performance optimization, and infrastructure scalability
• Manage engineering budgets, resources, and technical debt
• Represent the engineering organization in cross-functional leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions

What You Bring

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management capacity
• Proven track record leading large engineering teams in high-scale, consumer-facing environments
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and streaming technologies
• Strong understanding of sports, entertainment, or media industry dynamics
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience building and scaling platforms serving millions of users
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term technical vision
