Senior Learning and Development Specialist – Safety and Compliance Training Experience

Vumc seeks a Senior Learning and Development Specialist focused on safety and compliance training to join our Nashville team. In this full-time position, you'll design, develop, and deliver training programs that keep our workforce safe and our organization compliant with regulatory requirements.

Role Overview

As Senior Learning and Development Specialist, you will take the lead on creating and implementing comprehensive safety and compliance training initiatives. Working closely with subject matter experts, compliance teams, and operational leaders, you'll ensure that training programs address real workplace needs and meet all regulatory mandates. Your expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles will shape how our organization builds safety culture and maintains compliance.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and deliver safety and compliance training programs tailored to different roles and departments
• Create training materials, assessments, and learning resources that meet regulatory standards and organizational needs
• Partner with subject matter experts and compliance officers to ensure accuracy and relevance
• Measure training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics
• Maintain detailed training records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices in safety and compliance training
• Provide coaching and support to participants during training delivery

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in learning and development, with demonstrated focus on safety and compliance training
• Strong instructional design skills and familiarity with modern learning management systems
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to workplace safety and compliance
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Detail-oriented approach with strong project management skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
