Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Advisor (Contract)

Position Overview

We are representing a confidential international nonprofit organization that is strengthening its monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems across multiple programs in three countries. This 6-month contract position will develop practical MEAL frameworks, data collection tools, and sustainable workflows that support consistent measurement while allowing for appropriate adaptation to different program contexts.

This is a remote, project-based role reporting to senior program leadership. Time commitment per week may vary based on deliverable schedules throughout the 6-month duration.

Responsibilities

Working with program and leadership teams, you will:

• Develop comprehensive MEAL plans and frameworks for multiple programs operating across the UK, Sierra Leone, and the US
• Define appropriate indicators, data sources, collection methods, responsibilities, and reporting schedules
• Create standardized and context-specific monitoring and data collection tools
• Establish workflows and systems for routine collection, validation, analysis, reporting, and use of program data
• Build organizational capacity to maintain and operate the MEAL system independently after the consultancy concludes
• Deliver staff training, documentation, and complete handover to ensure sustainability
• Design and implement a Google Sheets-based performance tracking system with dashboards, validation controls, and automated reporting features
• Develop community feedback and complaints-response mechanisms
• Support one live pilot reporting cycle and refine systems based on findings

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Significant professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning
• Proven experience designing organizational or multi-program MEAL systems
• Demonstrated track record developing MEAL plans, indicators, data collection tools, and reporting frameworks
• Experience building monitoring workflows and sustainable data management processes
• Strong understanding of both quantitative and qualitative monitoring methods
• Experience supporting programs operating across multiple countries or contexts
• Ability to translate technical MEAL concepts into practical tools for program staff
• Experience delivering staff training and capacity building
• Strong analytical, facilitation, and technical writing skills

Preferred:

• Experience working with global programs in international development contexts
• Deep contextual understanding of Africa through lived experience, long-term professional engagement, or meaningful personal connection
• Demonstrated commitment to working in partnership with diverse stakeholders and respect for local leadership

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: USD $28,000 fixed fee for satisfactory completion of all deliverables

This is a contract position with a defined scope and deliverable-based payment structure. The total professional fee covers the 6-month engagement period.
