Psychiatrist- Virtua Behavioral Health-Fulltime Outpatient

Virtua is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist for a full-time, on-site outpatient position at our Behavioral Health center located in Moorestown at 728 Marne Highway. As a member of our mental health team, you'll provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients seeking evaluation and treatment in our community-based setting.

What This Role Involves

In this position, you'll serve as a clinical psychiatrist in our behavioral health practice, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with various psychiatric and emotional health conditions. You'll conduct detailed evaluations, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide ongoing medication management and psychopharmacological consultation within our outpatient clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for new and established patients
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, adjusting treatment plans based on patient response and clinical outcomes
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation and patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including therapists, counselors, and nurses to coordinate integrated patient care
• Provide crisis assessment and emergency psychiatric consultation as needed
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management
• Participate in clinical team meetings and quality improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with current state licensure to practice psychiatry
• Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
• Active DEA registration and prescribing privileges
• Strong clinical expertise in psychiatric diagnosis and pharmacological treatment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based psychiatric practice
• Ability to manage a diverse patient population with varying psychiatric needs
