English Instructor (FT) Remote – OH

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential education services organization seeking a full-time English Instructor to work remotely. This role is ideal for educators who believe in building core skills over shortcuts and who are passionate about helping students reach their academic potential through personalized instruction.

Our talent team is looking for a professional who can teach small groups, develop individualized curriculum, and mentor students through college readiness preparation. This is a fully remote position requiring availability during specific hours, Tuesday through Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Instruct small groups of students in English core skills to promote long-term understanding and college readiness exam preparation (ACT and SAT)
• Track student progress through a multi-phase curriculum and engage students in individualized growth opportunities
• Maintain and update student lesson schedules, hold students accountable for assignments, and communicate professionally and promptly
• Develop and execute evolving lesson plans and curriculum materials
• Mentor middle and high school students with empathy, recognizing the competitive nature of college admissions
• Model strong organizational skills and professionalism in all interactions

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities field from a US institution (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.; Master's or higher preferred)
• 1+ years of teaching experience in English and/or experience working in a college-level Writing Center
• Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA)
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites
• Access to reliable internet and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions
• Commitment to work during required hours: Tuesdays–Thursdays 1:30 pm–9:30 pm CST; Saturdays–Sundays 9:30 am–5:30 pm CST (Mondays and Fridays closed)

Preferred:

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level
• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy and ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans using real-world examples
• Dynamic and outgoing personality
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Pay
