Technical Writer / Quality Assurance Specialist – Remote – Contractor in US

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential international organization seeking a Technical Writer / Quality Assurance Specialist for a remote contractor position based in the United States. This role combines documentation excellence with hands-on QA work in an agile environment supporting complex web applications.

Candidates must be available to work 6+ hours per day during New York business hours (9 AM–5 PM ET).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical leads, business analysts, and developers to document end-to-end traceability of business requirements, tracking the full history of software features and assessing impact of changes
• Produce and maintain high-quality documentation including use-case documents, functional specifications, UI design/wireframes, integration guides, API developer guides, user guides, instructions, and tutorials
• Ensure adherence to established guidelines on document branding and accessibility
• Work within an agile team to ensure quality of complex MEAN stack applications
• Develop, modify, and execute functional test scripts and analyze bugs for systems in development
• Partner closely with technical leads, business analysts, and developers to identify potential operational issues, assess risks, and resolve issues proactively
• Complete tasks assigned via Kanban process with progress tracked in daily team meetings (morning hours EST)
• Obtain sign-off from business owners or Technical Lead on all completed tasks

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of hands-on technical writing experience with a proven track record creating written documentation, requirement documents, use-case diagrams, functional specifications, and user guides/training materials
• 3+ years of Quality Assurance experience for complex web application platforms
• Experience designing, developing, managing, and executing test cases, preferably using QA management tools
• Proven experience with test automation using Selenium and the ability to write scripts and perform API testing
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• English language proficiency (oral and written)
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is a plus
• Availability to work New York business hours (9 AM–5 PM ET) for 6+ hours per day
