(Senior) Supply Chain Consultant (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential supply chain technology organization seeking a (Senior) Supply Chain Consultant based in Wiesbaden. In this heavily customer-facing role, you will shape implementation projects from requirements through go-live.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Requirements gathering and analysis: Prepare, facilitate and document workshops to understand how customers plan their operations. Conduct data analysis to identify current strengths and gaps in their planning processes.
• Process design: Define target planning processes, roles and KPIs. Guide customers toward industry best practices, including identifying where current workflows need to evolve.
• System configuration: Build business rules, workflows and reporting that deliver the agreed design. Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and perform well in production environments.
• Value case development: Define measurement frameworks for forecast accuracy, availability, inventory and cost. Report transparently to customer leadership on project progress and outcomes.
• Go-live coordination: Manage User Acceptance Testing, resolve issues surfaced during testing, and train super users to ensure customers are proficient post-implementation.
• Adoption focus: Drive actual usage and business value, not just technical delivery. A solution nobody uses is not a successful project.
• Documentation: Maintain clear records of requirements, scope and configuration for project teams, customers and ongoing support colleagues.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with technical teams on data models, interfaces and ERP integration. Partner with project managers on scope, effort estimation and timelines.

What We're Looking For

For mid-level candidates:

• Around 2+ years of relevant experience in supply chain or retail planning, demand and inventory planning, or implementing/consulting on planning software
• Degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, mathematics or computer science preferred, but practical experience is most important
• Structured analytical thinking and comfort working with ambiguous requirements
• Strong communication skills across all organizational levels—from training room to steering committee
• Business-fluent German and English (both used daily)
• Willingness to travel depending on project phase
• Technical affinity: SQL, scripting knowledge or eagerness to learn

Additional requirements for Senior level:

• Several years of consulting or implementation experience with demonstrable end-to-end ownership of a workstream or smaller project (scope, risk, timeline, completion)
• Reliable effort estimation capabilities for standard and custom requirements, supporting scoping discussions
• Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
• Confidence presenting to senior customer stakeholders and steering committees
• Hands-on experience with a supply chain planning system as user or implementer
• Experience defining and tracking KPIs or building business value cases
