About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential hospitality client in Berlin seeking a Controller/Accounting Support professional. Our client operates multiple entities with approximately 150,000 annual transactions, requiring both meticulous bookkeeping at the transaction level and strategic controlling capabilities. You'll join a small, dynamic finance team working across several legal entities in a fast-growing environment.

This role combines hands-on accounting with analytical controlling work, offering the opportunity to influence financial processes and decision-making in a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing financial accounting including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting
• Review, code, and post incoming and outgoing invoices with attention to detail
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and settlements between entities
• Administer payment processing
• Actively support year-end closings under HGB standards (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)
• Maintain and execute monthly reporting including BWA commentary
• Analyze budget-to-actual variances and derive operational recommendations
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, reports, and liquidity overviews for internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Solid professional experience in accounting (AR, AP, fixed assets, intercompany), ideally in a multi-entity environment or a role with broad ownership
• Experience in detailed invoice review and coding, plus strong understanding of HGB financial statements, ideally with year-end closing experience
• Controlling competence: ability to derive KPIs, forecasts, and operational measures from financial data
• Proficiency with DATEV is required; strong Excel skills essential
• Quick learner with high degree of independence and excellent attention to detail
• Business-fluent German and English, written and spoken

Preferred:

• Experience with BI tools and building reporting structures from scratch
• Background in hospitality, real estate, or multi-entity operations
• Interest in automation and process optimization (API interfaces, booking automation)
