Senior Project Management Officer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting organization based in Berlin that is seeking a Senior Project Management Officer to join their growing portfolio of strategic initiatives. Our client delivers complex IT transformation projects and is looking for an experienced PMO professional to strengthen their project delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational relief to project leads and the Project Management Office in day-to-day activities
• Prepare, coordinate, moderate and independently conduct working sessions, status meetings and client appointments
• Track and escalate open items and action points across multiple projects
• Take on deputy project leadership responsibilities and, when required, full project leadership
• Ensure quality assurance and reporting for projects, including deriving control measures from project KPIs
• Conduct quality management sessions with project leads
• Continuously develop PMO processes, methods and templates while ensuring compliance
• Contribute to training new consultants in project management through onboarding, training sessions and workshops

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a project environment, with substantial PMO or project management experience
• Strong knowledge of common project management methodologies and tools
• Certification in IPMA, PMP or agile methodologies (ideally)
• Conscientious, detail-oriented and structured working style with strong prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities with a confident, professional presence
• Capability to handle escalations with composure
• German language proficiency at C1 level minimum
• Deep comfort in IT environments with strong command of MS Office and Microsoft 365 products
• Analytical and conceptual thinking with fundamental understanding of project calculations
• Experience with risk management and quality gates
• Confident presence in complex organizational settings with clear, binding communication
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI tools in professional workflows
• Advantageous: industry knowledge in housing/real estate or SAP environment experience
