Role Overview

The Produce Quality Control Associate inspects incoming and outgoing produce shipments to verify freshness, ripeness, and compliance with Sysco's quality standards. You'll work in a fast-paced produce distribution environment, using visual assessment, handling, and testing methods to catch issues before products reach customers. Your attention to detail directly impacts customer satisfaction and food safety across our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect produce for defects, spoilage, ripeness, and adherence to quality specifications
• Document quality findings and maintain accurate inspection records
• Sort, rotate, and organize produce to prioritize freshness and minimize waste
• Communicate quality concerns to supervisors and coordinate corrective actions
• Support temperature and storage condition monitoring in produce areas
• Collaborate with warehouse and distribution teams to maintain efficient operations

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in quality control, produce handling, or food distribution (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow quality standards consistently
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle produce boxes
