About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential hospitality organization that operates premium meeting and event spaces in Central London. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Audio Visual Technician to support live corporate events and meetings at a flagship location in the South Bank/Central London area. This is a full-time, onsite position requiring an immediate start within 1–2 months.

Please note: Candidates must currently reside in the UK and be authorized to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting and provide technical assistance to clients of all technology skill levels
  • Troubleshoot AV equipment including audio, video, lighting, computer networking systems, and hardware
  • Evaluate and resolve issues with personal computer hardware and software, peripheral devices, mobile devices, and network components
  • Coordinate pre-event technology needs with property teams and management to ensure readiness
  • Provide anticipatory customer service and build strong working relationships with internal teams and vendors
  • Review technical quotes ahead of events and attend pre-event and production meetings as needed
  • Supervise daily floor operations, manage equipment setup and strike, lead room teams, and support ad hoc AV functions
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships and assist with reasonable requests during programs
  • Collaborate with production teams to understand client experience requirements prior to events
  • Participate in collaborative projects across technology and other departments
  • Review and recommend quarterly updates to departmental standard operating procedures
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving abilities while maintaining a professional image

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 4–5 years of experience supporting AV and IT equipment and computer software systems
  • Customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of audiovisual equipment including analog/digital audio mixers, wireless microphone systems, seamless video switchers, and projectors/displays
  • Basic understanding of Crestron and other central control systems
  • Basic knowledge of data networking principles, architecture, and applications
  • Experience with installation, configuration, operation, and administration of operating systems, applications, and hardware for Macs, PCs, LANs, and servers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Apple iWorks suite of business applications
  • Flexibility to work long and weekend hours as required
  • Physical ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and climb and work on a ladder for lengthy periods

Equipment & Technical Qualifications:

  • Audio: 4–48 channel analog/digital mixers, wireless microphone lavaliers and handhelds, push-to-talk microphone systems, audio recorders; familiarity with Biamp systems is a plus
  • Video: Switchers, projectors, LCD displays, LED video walls; media server familiarity a plus
  • Lighting: Knowledge of lighting maps, lighting concepts, and best practices; familiarity with rigging
  • IT: Wi-Fi troubleshooting, hardline internet connections, knowledge of DHCP/Static IP addressing, collaboration tools and equipment
  • Hybrid: Familiarity with virtual meeting and event platform functions as well as live streaming technologies including cameras, encoders, lighting, and transmission protocols (RTMPs/HLS/SRT)
  • Control: Familiarity with Crestron control systems and associated hardware; familiarity with AVoIP fundamentals a plus

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £36,000–£38,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.
