About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential Software and IT services organization with operations across Europe and beyond. Our talent team is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support a major client engagement on a remote basis within the EU.
This is a B2B contract position based in the Netherlands, working remotely. You will be integrated into a collaborative team coordinating closely with the client's IT department.
Responsibilities
- Organize and facilitate agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, and backlog refinement sessions
- Ensure all meetings remain positive, productive, focused, and timeboxed effectively
- Collaborate closely with the product owner to manage and refine the backlog
- Coach the team and product owner on empiricism, value-based backlog slicing, and incremental delivery
- Track and communicate flow metrics such as velocity, sprint burndown, and iteration burn rate; guide the team toward data-driven improvement
- Champion adoption of agile standards, tools, and best practices across the team
- Proactively identify and remove impediments to team progress
- Promote self-organizing teams, shared vision, psychological safety, and collaborative decision-making techniques
- Uphold Definition of Done, quality gates, and organizational compliance standards
- Communicate with other Scrum Masters and product owners to ensure transparency into delivery progress, challenges, and risks
- Utilize team feedback and metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous enhancement
- Support the team in leveraging agile planning and development tools effectively
- Experiment with new practices and frameworks to improve team outcomes
- Participate actively in communities of practice and professional development to strengthen your skills
- Contribute to the advancement of agile practices within the broader organization
What We're Looking For
- University degree and at least 8 years of IT professional experience
- Minimum 3 years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master at SM2 level or above
- Led at least 2 production teams through full sprint cycles including planning, review, retrospective, and refinement
- Implemented data-driven continuous improvement initiatives such as increasing team velocity or reducing lead time
- Experience coordinating cross-team work via Scrum-of-Scrums or PI Planning events
- Deep knowledge of the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto principles and values
- Strong facilitation techniques including Fist of Five, participatory decision-making, and Liberating Structures
- Understanding of systems-thinking and process tailoring for complex or evolving environments
- Knowledge of team motivation and stakeholder engagement techniques such as information radiators and team empowerment models
- Proficiency with Agile metrics including velocity, cycle time, burn-up/down charts, and cumulative flow diagrams; ability to build and interpret dashboards
- Tool proficiency in Azure DevOps (preferred) or Jira, particularly backlog management, dashboards, and workflow configuration
- Current Scrum Master certifications: PSM II (or higher) and SAFe 5/6 Agilist required
- Experience with scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe, Nexus, or LeSS is an asset
- Knowledge of integrating SAFe and Kanban approaches to optimize flow and delivery predictability is an asset
- Excellent command of the English language
