Full Stack and Backend NodeJS TypeScript/JavaScript Engineer (Senior) – Remote,

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking a senior-level Full Stack and Backend Engineer to join their growing engineering organization. This remote role is based in Chile and offers the chance to work on challenging client projects that demand technical excellence and architectural sophistication.

We are looking for an engineer with deep backend expertise in Node.js and TypeScript who can architect and build secure, scalable API services. You'll work on complex systems that require careful attention to multi-tenancy, data security, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and build low-latency API services and scalable RESTful APIs in AWS environments
• Develop secure multi-tenant systems with proper data isolation and Row-Level Security implementation
• Write and maintain raw SQL queries and manage schema migrations for PostgreSQL/Aurora databases
• Integrate third-party services through SDK implementations
• Build comprehensive test suites including integration tests against real databases and fault-injection scenarios
• Contribute to frontend development with React when needed to support full-stack deliverables
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for application deployment
• Leverage AI coding assistants as part of your development workflow
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams, with availability to overlap US business hours

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a backend focus
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Proven experience building API services in AWS
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Hands-on experience writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (node-postgres, node-pg-migrate)
• Professional experience with React for frontend work
• Strong testing discipline with integration and failure-mode testing
• Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development
• CI/CD creation and maintenance skills
• Track record working with large, complex systems
• Bachelor's degree
• Extreme ownership and accountability for deliverables
• Client-focused mindset and meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to overlap US business hours

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with event-sourced, append-only, or bitemporal data models
• Familiarity with Fastify and schema-first validation (Zod)
• Experience running containerized services on AWS Fargate/ECS
• Background in compliance-sensitive domains such as fintech or telecom
