About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential personal injury medical practice seeking a Bilingual Patient Follow-Up Specialist to join their remote team in Colombia. This part-time position (30 hours per week initially) focuses on patient outreach, medical documentation, and legal coordination in a healthcare setting that serves both English and Spanish-speaking communities.
This role addresses a critical operational need: clearing a significant backlog of patient follow-up calls while maintaining the accuracy and attention to detail required when patient information directly impacts legal proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound patient follow-up calls approximately 4 to 6 weeks post-visit to assess recovery progress and current condition
- Complete structured symptom questionnaires covering headaches, dizziness, and other reported concerns
- Document patient responses accurately in symptom tracking databases for physician review
- Respond to attorney and law firm requests for patient evaluations, medical records, and billing documentation
- Compile and verify complete record packages before submission to ensure zero preventable errors
- Upload documentation to attorney portals and client management systems
- Track outstanding requests and maintain organized records across internal and external platforms
- Provide end-of-day reports summarizing completed calls, outreach attempts, and pending follow-ups
- Cross-train on scheduling and intake workflows to provide backup coverage when needed
- Maintain persistent but professional outreach to difficult-to-reach patients
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Full fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
- Previous experience as Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Virtual Medical Assistant, or similar healthcare support role
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient communication
- Exceptional attention to detail when entering records or managing documentation
- Excellent telephone communication skills with a warm, patient-centered approach
- Comfort with frequent outbound calling and follow-up work
- Ability to independently track and manage multiple open tasks
- Availability to work consistently during Mountain Time business hours
Preferred:
- Experience working with personal injury practices
- Background communicating with attorneys or law firms
- Experience fulfilling medical records or billing documentation requests
- Familiarity with legal, clinic, or attorney portals
