About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential cryptocurrency exchange in their search for a Lead Compliance Specialist based in Peru. Our client is an established digital asset platform serving a global user base, and they are seeking an experienced compliance professional to strengthen their regulatory framework and risk management practices.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive compliance programs that meet international financial crime prevention standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and industry standards
- Monitor and analyze evolving regulatory and legal requirements affecting digital asset operations
- Oversee preparation, review, and timely submission of regulatory reports and filings
- Conduct thorough internal compliance audits and risk assessments across business functions
- Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance standards and best practices
- Report material compliance issues to senior leadership and coordinate with regulatory bodies as required
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed compliance controls into business processes
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of compliance experience within financial institutions or digital asset platforms
- Undergraduate degree in law, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Deep knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and financial crimes prevention frameworks
- Proven experience conducting compliance audits and implementing remediation programs
- Strong ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements to diverse stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with regulatory reporting and maintaining relationships with supervisory authorities
- Must be a resident of Peru
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly valued
