Operational Excellence Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client expanding operations in the United Kingdom. Our talent team is searching for an Operational Excellence Lead to own the operational backbone of their UK business and ensure daily operations, internal systems, and customer-facing execution run smoothly and efficiently at scale.

This is a hands-on leadership role partnering directly with senior leadership to turn business objectives into strong execution on the ground. You'll build systems, lead teams, and step in directly when execution breaks. This is not a manage-from-a-distance position.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute operational strategies that support growth and align with business objectives in the UK market
• Run day-to-day operations across customer service, administrative operations, and internal workflows to maintain frictionless execution
• Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing operations and admin team with a strong culture of ownership and accountability
• Own process improvement by identifying bottlenecks, automating where possible, and implementing systems that reduce costs and increase speed
• Lead the customer support function and handle high-stakes or escalated cases directly when required
• Oversee company administration and internal operations, including office management, documentation, vendor coordination, and policy adherence

What We're Looking For

• Strong background in operations, execution, or internal business operations within tech, fintech, or fast-scaling environments
• Proven experience leading operations and admin teams in high-expectation settings
• Hands-on mindset with the ability to solve problems directly rather than simply delegating
• Strong organisational, execution, and problem-solving skills
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and bringing structure to fast-moving situations
• Ability to work cross-functionally and drive execution without formal authority
• Strong English communication skills required for global team collaboration

This role is not suitable for: candidates who prefer to manage from a distance, need fully-built systems handed to them, require fixed scope and slow timelines, avoid escalations or difficult conversations, or produce lengthy updates without clear decisions or actions.

Location: United Kingdom. This is a hybrid role requiring office presence at least 3 days per week.
