Senior Data Analyst, Financial Health

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech client seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join their Financial Health team in Cardiff (with UK remote options available). In this role, you will partner closely with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to drive data-informed decision-making around supporting customers experiencing financial difficulty.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Generating strategic insights through proactive analysis to guide the Financial Health product roadmap
• Bringing analytical rigour to product development cycles and structuring complex projects from conception to delivery
• Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and key metrics using Looker to track business and customer outcomes
• Ensuring accurate regulatory reporting and compliance with third-party data requirements
• Building controls and monitoring systems to verify business processes are operating as intended
• Leading initiatives to improve data accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility across the organisation
• Advising on expansion strategy with a data-driven perspective

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings:

• Solid SQL proficiency and experience with modern data analysis tools
• Hands-on experience selecting the right analytical approach for different business problems
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical, hands-on execution
• Passion for using data to improve business decisions and customer outcomes
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers and engineers
• Comfort working autonomously in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Strong communication skills to convey complex findings to diverse stakeholders

The technology stack includes Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery SQL, dbt, Python, and Go. Prior experience with all of these tools is not required.

Experience in financial health or consumer lending is a plus but not essential.
