Senior Cloud Consultant – Data & AI Engineer (f/m/d, 4-Days-Week), German Speaking

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AWS consulting organization with operations across Europe. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Cloud Consultant specializing in Data & AI Engineering for their Hamburg location. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing practice where you'll own end-to-end architecture for data platforms and generative AI solutions.

This role offers a 4-day work week at 36 hours and requires German language proficiency alongside technical English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable AWS architectures for data platforms and generative AI/agentic AI solutions from initial workshops through production deployment
• Ensure security, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles
• Make and document architecture decisions including trade-offs so teams can build on them effectively
• Translate business pain points into measurable technical requirements and clear objectives
• Develop generative AI and agentic AI solutions on AWS Bedrock using frameworks for agent orchestration and governance
• Build agent architectures with tool integration, multi-step orchestration, and clearly defined scope boundaries
• Implement human-in-the-loop patterns including approval steps, escalation logic, and review cycles
• Establish evaluation and quality assurance frameworks for LLM and agent systems
• Participate in technical pre-sales activities, project scoping, and statement of work creation
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to clients, translating complex technology into clear business value
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal standards, best practices, and training programs

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years in cloud, data, software, or ML engineering with 2+ years owning end-to-end architectures
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services and infrastructure
• Solid experience in data engineering and ETL architectures
• Proven experience delivering generative AI or agentic AI projects
• Excellent Python programming skills
• Professional fluency in both English and German

Preferred:

• AWS certifications
• Experience in pre-sales or technical leadership roles
• Background in consulting or customer-facing project delivery
• Familiarity with AWS Connect
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or comparable tools
• LLM customization, fine-tuning, and distillation experience
• Practical MLOps experience including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Experience with Kafka or streaming architectures
