About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Sr. Technical Business Analyst to join their Engineering/Product team. This is a strategic leadership role that bridges business objectives with technical solutions, driving organizational success through collaboration and analytical excellence.
This position reports to the VP of Engineering and offers the opportunity to lead business analysis functions, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to the growth of a dynamic organization. You'll partner with stakeholders across all business units to gather requirements, analyze complex processes, and ensure solutions meet both business goals and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
- Lead strategic conversations with business and engineering teams to address reporting challenges, enhance processes, and define high-impact initiatives
- Manage, mentor, and guide junior business analysts, fostering their development and aligning team efforts with organizational goals
- Drive project planning, scheduling, and monitoring to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Serve as the primary liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment and clear communication
- Analyze complex business and reporting challenges and translate them into actionable technical solutions, including requirements definition, data modeling, and reporting design
- Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Finance teams to design, develop, test, and maintain dbt models supporting operational, financial, and regulatory reporting
- Write, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for regulatory, executive, and operational reporting
- Translate business and regulatory reporting requirements into scalable data models while ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and auditability
- Perform data analysis, reconciliation, and validation to ensure reporting outputs meet compliance and business requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to establish data quality standards, testing frameworks, and documentation
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of professional experience as a business analyst, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role
- Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring teams, with ability to build high-performing teams
- Deep understanding of financial products, services, and the regulatory landscape affecting fintech
- Expertise in data analytics and translating findings into actionable strategies
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
- Strong hands-on experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for reporting and analytics in large-scale data environments
- Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting dbt (Data Build Tool) models, including data transformations, testing, and documentation
- Proven ability to translate business, financial, and regulatory reporting requirements into technical specifications and data models
- Experience with data warehouses and modern analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery)
- Familiarity with banking, lending, fintech, or regulatory reporting processes, including data reconciliation and audit controls
- Experience performing root-cause analysis and resolving data quality issues across reporting workflows
