About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential developer platform organization seeking a Support Engineer to join their globally distributed technical support function. This role covers weekend shifts across EMEA timezones, working directly with technical users experiencing platform issues or seeking implementation guidance.
This is a full-time position working 4 ten-hour shifts (08:00-18:00 UTC), permanently covering Friday through Monday. We are seeking candidates based in European, African, or Middle Eastern timezones.
Responsibilities
- Deliver initial and timely responses to support cases spanning billing inquiries, pre-sales questions, optimization guidance, and technical implementation support
- Triage incoming requests by directing users to existing documentation, code examples, previous solutions, or escalating to specialized technical teams as needed
- Monitor multiple community feedback channels including issue trackers and discussion forums
- Identify opportunities for internal tooling development to enhance support team efficiency
- Reproduce reported issues, create test cases, and contribute to improved test coverage where applicable
- Work closely with product engineering and growth teams to resolve complex technical challenges
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience providing developer support to technical customers
- Strong proficiency in SQL, particularly PostgreSQL, with comfort handling complex queries
- Database administration experience is a significant plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English
- Solid experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line interfaces
- Demonstrated experience managing support workflows through GitHub Issues and Discussions
- Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte) and Node.js is highly valued
- Computer Science degree is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment
