OT Security Engineer Biogasanlagen mit Homeoffice (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential renewable energy organization seeking an OT Security Engineer to secure industrial networks, SCADA/PLC environments, and remote access systems at biogas facility sites in Saerbeck, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Securing and advancing OT/ICS environments across operational biogas sites
• Developing and implementing security concepts for PLC, SCADA, HMI, and control systems
• Designing network segmentation, zone models, and secure communication pathways
• Deploying and hardening remote access solutions for service providers and maintenance teams
• Contributing to vulnerability, risk, and remediation management for OT and adjacent IT systems
• Building and optimizing backup, restore, and emergency recovery procedures for production-critical systems
• Coordinating with IT, automation, plant engineering, and external integration partners
• Maintaining technical documentation, security policies, and operational OT processes

What We're Looking For

• Professional experience in OT security, industrial security, automation, control systems, SCADA, or industrial IT
• Strong understanding of PLC, SCADA, HMI, control systems, remote monitoring technology, or industrial networks
• Hands-on practice with network segmentation, secure remote access, and backup/restore scenarios
• Relevant background as OT Security Engineer, ICS Security Engineer, Automation Engineer, SCADA Engineer, Control Systems Technician, or Network Engineer
• Ideally familiar with IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or comparable security standards
• Excellent German language skills and good English for technical coordination
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented work approach
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% for on-site coordination at facilities
