OT Security Engineer mit Remote-Option (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential renewable energy organization that is expanding its operational technology security capabilities across multiple industrial facilities. This OT Security Engineer role focuses on protecting and advancing production-critical systems in biogas and industrial environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing technical security measures for OT environments at industrial facility sites
• Developing and deploying OT/ICS security concepts for production-adjacent systems
• Analyzing risks and vulnerabilities across OT, ICS, and connected IT infrastructure
• Designing network segmentation, zone/conduit models, and secure system access frameworks
• Establishing and optimizing remote access solutions for service partners and external providers
• Contributing to backup, restore, and emergency response concepts for critical control systems
• Coordinating with IT, automation, process control, plant engineering, and external stakeholders
• Maintaining technical documentation, security policies, and operational procedures
• Conducting occasional on-site visits to facilities in the Berlin, Brandenburg, and eastern Germany regions

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings several years of hands-on experience in OT security, industrial security, automation engineering, process control, network engineering, or IT/OT convergence.

• Strong understanding of industrial systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, control systems, and remote terminal units
• Practical experience with network segmentation, secure remote access, and backup/restore strategies
• Background as an OT Security Engineer, ICS Security Engineer, Automation Engineer, Network Engineer, or Process Control Technician
• Familiarity with IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or comparable security frameworks is highly valued
• Excellent German language skills and working proficiency in English for technical coordination
• Structured, self-directed, and solution-focused approach to technical challenges
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% for regional site visits
• Location in or accessibility to the Berlin, Brandenburg, or eastern Germany area

This is a permanent, unlimited-term position in a stable industry sector. The role is primarily remote with scheduled on-site appointments at regional facilities.
