Business Development Manager Wasseraufbereitung (all genders)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential environmental engineering organization in their search for a Business Development Manager focused on water treatment solutions. In this role, you will:

• Drive the development and expansion of a growing European market segment for advanced water treatment technologies, with responsibility from market prioritization through contract closure across the EU and Switzerland
• Engage directly with plant operators, municipalities, planning firms, and engineering consultancies throughout public procurement processes in the water treatment sector
• Prepare technical proposals and cost calculations, lead negotiations, and manage tender processes
• Provide consultative support to operators and planning offices on customized plant solutions, working in true partnership
• Serve as the interface between sales and project execution, contributing strategic input for technical and organizational development of the product area
• Develop country-specific market entry strategies based on evolving regulatory frameworks
• Represent the organization at industry trade shows and professional events

What We're Looking For

• Completed technical degree in environmental engineering, process engineering, chemical engineering, or comparable field
• Proven experience in drinking water or wastewater treatment environments—whether from an engineering consultancy, plant construction, or supply industry background
• Familiarity with public procurement procedures; knowledge of VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures) and HOAI service phases is highly valued
• Strong combination of commercial acumen and genuine technical curiosity, with the ability to apply expertise actively in consulting and market development
• Fluent German and strong English communication skills for work across European markets
• Demonstrated strengths in communication, team collaboration, entrepreneurial thinking, and self-direction with a desire for long-term commitment in a culture-focused environment
• Willingness to travel within Europe approximately 25% of the time
