Finance Functional Lead – Insurance Associate Director

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global professional services organization seeking a Finance Functional Lead with deep insurance industry expertise. This senior leadership role combines finance domain mastery with AI fluency and enterprise transformation experience. You'll lead large-scale finance reinvention engagements, build C-suite relationships, and drive meaningful change for Fortune 500 clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full deal lifecycle for finance transformation engagements from pursuit through delivery, including client workshops, solution design, and executive presentations
• Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with CFOs, CAOs, and senior finance leadership across insurance sector clients
• Design AI-first finance solutions leveraging agentic AI, intelligent automation, and modern ERP platforms to reinvent operating models
• Translate complex transformation programs into compelling commercial narratives that secure executive buy-in and close managed services contracts
• Provide deep functional expertise in at least one F&A domain (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, or FP&A), leading process engineering and digital integration
• Contribute thought leadership on finance reinvention, AI in F&A, and the future of the finance function through market-facing content and industry forums

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or equivalent certification
• Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale finance sales or transformation within consulting or managed services environments
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in the insurance, banking, or capital markets sectors
• Proven track record leading and closing significant finance consulting or managed services deals
• Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally

Preferred:

• Active CPA certification
• Previous external consulting experience at a recognized firm
• Demonstrated AI fluency with ability to design and articulate AI-first operating models, not just reference concepts
• Hands-on experience deploying agentic AI, GenAI, or intelligent automation in finance contexts
• Deep familiarity with leading ERP and F&A platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or Coupa
• Specific insurance industry domain expertise
• Experience structuring and winning F&A managed services contracts

Pay

Pay varies by location and experience. Our client offers competitive compensation with the following ranges by state:

• California: $163,000 to $413,600
• New York: $150,900 to $413,600
• New Jersey: $173,500 to $413,600
• District of Columbia: $173,500 to $380,500
• Washington: $173,500 to $380,500
• Massachusetts: $163,000 to $380,500
• Virginia: $150,900 to $380,500
• Maryland: $163,000 to $357,400
• Colorado: $163,000 to $357,400
• Illinois: $150,900 to $357,400
• Minnesota: $163,000 to $357,400
• Cleveland: $150,900 to $330,900
• Maine: $138,800 to $304,400
