Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Database Administrator with expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL. This fully remote position offers optional attendance in Nuremberg and/or Munich.
In this role, you will:
- Maintain and support day-to-day database operations within the infrastructure team
- Build, operate, and convert Oracle databases including RAC, CDB, and PDB environments
- Ensure high availability and analyze/resolve production and performance issues
- Contribute to releases, projects, and regulatory initiatives including cloud migrations and proof-of-concepts
- Analyze security vulnerabilities and implement appropriate remediation measures
- Optimize monitoring, backup, and recovery processes with regular testing
- Advance automation capabilities using Shell, Ansible, and scripting
- Monitor and manage tickets and changes according to ITIL frameworks, including on-call rotation
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience with database technologies including Oracle and PostgreSQL; additional experience with MSSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch is a plus
- Strong proficiency in Shell and Ansible scripting with practical Git experience
- Hands-on experience operating Oracle Exadata Cloud Customer environments
- Deep knowledge of ITIL processes and their operational application
- Proven track record in IT migration and cloud projects, including datacenter moves
- Strong technical understanding of IT infrastructure and datacenter services
- Structured, solution-oriented, and independent working style
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (C1 level)
