Director, Compensation

About This Opportunity

We are representing a post-IPO technology company with a global footprint across multiple continents. Our client is building a compensation function that goes beyond answering questions—they're creating systems that anticipate them. This Director role will lead the design of compensation structures, incentive programs, and enablement tools that transform how employees and managers understand and engage with total rewards.

You'll operate at the intersection of strategy, design, and experience, thinking like a product manager about compensation: identifying friction points, understanding user needs, and building toward a future where compensation is instantly visible, dynamically modeled, and strategically aligned with business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve bonus and long-term incentive programs that connect individual and company performance to motivating, understandable outcomes
• Own equity program design as a strategic lever for talent attraction, retention, and performance differentiation, including dilution modeling and governance
• Build tools and access layers that enable talent acquisition, business partners, managers, and employees to understand compensation rhythms, budgets, and decisions in real time
• Create compensation architecture that allows rapid execution and supports offer generation, internal mobility, and new role creation
• Partner with talent management to ensure pay-for-performance alignment and enable clear understanding of compensation outcomes
• Monitor market trends including AI impacts, pay transparency legislation, and workforce shifts to stay ahead of competitive pressures

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years designing and implementing global compensation structures across multiple markets (North America, EMEA, and beyond)
• Experience in high-growth business environments
• Deep knowledge of compensation technology and tools that drive efficiency and optimal outcomes
• Expert financial modeling capabilities with strong attention to detail
• Complex problem-solving skills with ability to balance strategic projects and tactical execution
• Proven experience building, designing, and managing global compensation and equity programs
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to leadership and board-level audiences
• Strategic, creative, and operational thinking with strong analytical capabilities
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and learn quickly
• Track record of successful collaboration with stakeholders at all organizational levels

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $185,300 CAD - $277,900 CAD, depending on qualifications, experience, and location within Canada. This role may also include equity and bonus eligibility.
