Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services organization in Brazil seeking a senior AI Engineering Lead to drive the development and architecture of intelligent systems. Working remotely, you will transform business requirements into scalable, secure AI solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Design logical and physical architectures for cognitive, conversational, autonomous, and multi-agent systems using Google ADK and Vertex AI Agent Engine
• Develop agentic microservices, RAG strategies, and integrations with core banking systems
• Structure deterministic workflows utilizing ADK, in-memory state control, and logical routing
• Create architectural diagrams following C4 Model standards (Levels 1 and 2)
• Lead the design and construction of connectors using Model Context Protocol (MCP), integrating tools such as GitLab, Kanbanize, and Dataplex
• Ensure decoupling and high resilience through event-driven architectures using Google Cloud Pub/Sub
• Implement Human-in-the-Loop controls for mandatory validation of critical actions
• Ensure explainability, governance, and compliance with internal AI policies
• Define and manage evaluations and regression testing with tools like DeepEvals, guaranteeing quality and accuracy before deployments
• Optimize AI inference costs through caching strategies, prompt tuning, and efficient resource utilization
• Implement end-to-end monitoring with structured logs, Dynatrace, and integrated telemetry

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

• Solid experience with Python 3.13+, uv package manager, and Google ADK (versions 2.4.x and 1.24.1)
• Development of code-first solutions for generative AI
• Knowledge of Vertex AI (Agent Builder, Agent Engine, Reasoning Engine, Model Registry, and Model Monitoring)
• Experience with Gemini Pro and Flash models
• Advanced knowledge in RAG, embeddings, chunking, metadata, and Vertex AI Vector Search
• Experience with Cloud Storage (GCS), Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL and MySQL), Firestore, and MongoDB Atlas
• Knowledge in environment provisioning through Terraform
• Experience building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge in running applications on Cloud Run and GKE
• Experience with structured JSON logging with correlation_id
• Knowledge in monitoring with Dynatrace and csf-py-dynatrace-lib library
• Experience with VPC Service Controls, Secret Manager, and Service Accounts following least privilege principles
• Knowledge of LGPD and BACEN regulations applied to AI use in the financial sector

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience creating and publishing Agent Skills using agentskills.io and Google Cloud Skill Registry
• Google Cloud certifications (Professional Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, or Machine Learning)
• Experience with orchestration tools such as N8N
• Experience with Data Science using Vertex AI
• Advanced knowledge in AI solutions on Google Cloud Platform
