Werkstudent*in Community Management (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential media organization seeking a working student for community management. In this role, you will:

• Manage and engage with online communities across multiple social media channels
• Monitor comment sections and respond to community questions with care, engagement, and empathy
• Serve as a solutions-oriented liaison between the organization and its social media communities
• Support the editorial team with crisis management and diplomatically address challenging situations
• Provide background research, fact-checking, and context for community discussions
• Collaborate closely with social media teams and deliver community insights to inform content creation
• Create original text and concept ideas for social media posts in coordination with existing teams
• Support topic development and content planning for various formats

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who brings:

• Current enrollment in humanities, media studies, communications, or a related field
• Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to quality
• Confident writing ability with the skill to strike the right tone for different audiences
• Deep familiarity with social media platforms and an intuitive sense for online trends
• Ability to maintain focus and composure under time pressure and stress
• Reliable, precise, and self-directed working style
• Enthusiasm for researching information and strong judgment about credible sources
• Team-player mentality with strong communication skills; prior community management experience is a plus
• Proficiency with Adobe and MS Office applications
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken

Position Details

This is a working student position (Werkstudent*in) based in Mainz or Berlin, Germany. The role is for up to 20 hours per week, initially on a fixed-term basis, with flexible scheduling and remote work options available in coordination with team leadership.
