About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential defense technology client based in Paris. They are building cutting-edge command and control systems deployed in real operational environments, where performance matters and every model decision has tangible consequences.
As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will tackle the most challenging perception problems in their stack—turning multi-source sensor data from satellites, drones, and other intelligence sources into actionable, real-time operational intelligence. Your work will ship quickly into production systems used by professionals who depend on accuracy and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design and train deep learning architectures for object detection, segmentation, and classification across satellite imagery, aerial photography, and complex visual data sources
- Drive applied research initiatives by tracking state-of-the-art developments, forming testable hypotheses, and iterating rapidly on promising approaches
- Optimize models for production deployment, ensuring inference speed and robustness under real-world distribution shift and field conditions
- Collaborate closely with data engineers and software teams to transition research prototypes into production systems without compromising performance
- Engage directly with end users and domain experts to understand operational requirements and define what success looks like in practice
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- PhD in AI, deep learning, or computer vision; OR 5-10 years of applied research experience with demonstrable results
- Deep expertise in deep learning and computer vision—this is non-negotiable
- Strong proficiency in Python, Git, and PyTorch
- Hands-on experience applying Transformer and multimodal architectures to visual data
- EU citizenship (required for defense contract compliance)
- English fluency
- Strong collaborative instinct: ability to explain technical decisions, co-design with cross-functional teams, and own outcomes beyond just model performance
Preferred experience:
- JAX/Flax, scikit-learn, and NumPy
- Satellite, aerial, or drone imagery processing
- Model deployment in constrained or sovereign computing environments
- SQL and PostgreSQL
- Defense, dual-use, or operational technology sectors
- Geospatial data processing
