Mathematics Expert (France)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential AI organization seeking a Mathematics Expert to contribute to advanced model training initiatives. In this remote contract role, you will design rigorous, deterministic mathematical problems that challenge state-of-the-art AI systems and support evaluation pipelines.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Designing advanced mathematical problems with exactly one verifiable correct answer
• Writing complete, verified solutions with clearly documented reasoning processes
• Developing problems that test deep mathematical reasoning rather than pattern memorization
• Building computational workflows using Python or specialized tools where appropriate
• Ensuring all outputs are technically precise, reproducible, and well-written in English
• Creating problems that mirror real mathematical workflows and research-level complexity

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
• Strong research or industry experience in mathematical modeling, proof-based reasoning, applied mathematics, or computational mathematics
• Strong Python programming skills with proficiency in libraries such as numpy, scipy, pandas, or similar
• Solid understanding of algorithms, numerical methods, and computational approaches
• Demonstrated ability to design original, challenging problems
• Excellent attention to detail and technical writing skills in English

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with symbolic math systems, theorem provers, optimization solvers, or mathematical software
• Background in olympiad-level, graduate-level, or research-level problem design
• Experience in model evaluation, benchmarking, or technical assessment design
