The Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech venture builder in their search for a Co-Founder & CEO to lead an AI-native mortgage origination platform. This is a true co-founder partnership with meaningful founder equity—not a traditional executive hire.

The venture is building intelligent infrastructure for mortgage origination, targeting brokers and mid-market independent mortgage banks. The platform manages the complete loan file lifecycle: document intake, guideline verification, investor compliance checking, and decision routing. Customer discovery has validated a significant cost problem in this segment, where lenders currently spend thousands per loan to originate, with costs rising approximately 35% over three years and manual document review consuming up to 80% of processing time.

The US mortgage market processes roughly 6.5 million loans annually across nearly 5,000 lending institutions. The broker and mid-market segment alone originates about 5.3 million loans per year, representing substantial addressable spend at target pricing with an estimated 8–10x return on current origination costs.

What You'll Own

As Co-Founder & CEO, you will drive the venture's strategic direction and execution:

• Strategy: Refine the ideal customer profile, pricing model, and product positioning
• Customer Development: Lead pilots with underwriters, processors, and operations teams; convert pilots to paid engagements; build the go-to-market motion
• Product: Partner with the venture building team to ship version one and iterate based on user feedback
• Capital: Lead the seed fundraising round with support from an established investor network
• Team: Recruit and lead the founding team while establishing company culture

What We're Looking For

• Previous founding experience at a venture-backed company
• Demonstrated success in B2B SaaS go-to-market, including sales and customer engagement
• Fundraising fluency with the ability to develop investor narratives and close capital rounds
• Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent
• Clear understanding of the risks and demands of co-founding a venture-backed company
• Direct exposure to mortgage origination and lending operations
