DB Pension Configuration Consultant

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential health technology organization in their search for a DB Pension Configuration Consultant based in Canada. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll serve as the critical bridge between complex pension legislation and the software systems that execute precise calculations for clients across North America.

In this position, you'll move beyond requirements analysis to directly configure internal software platforms, ensuring they accurately reflect each client's unique Defined Benefit pension calculation rules. You'll translate dense regulatory and financial requirements into technical specifications, then partner closely with quality assurance teams to validate that every calculation is flawless. After implementation, you'll transition into a subject matter expert role, providing ongoing support to keep systems running smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity to rapidly build deep expertise in DB pension administration while working on high-impact projects where accuracy is non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze clients' Defined Benefit pension plan calculation rules in detail
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients and project teams on all pension calculation matters
• Configure proprietary software to match the specifics of each client's pension plan
• Write technical specifications for new software developments based on client requirements
• Ensure seamless integration with other systems being implemented for the client
• Contribute to testing strategy development for configuration and new features
• Review test scenarios and selection criteria required by pension plans
• Support quality assurance teams throughout testing cycles
• Provide recommendations for software improvements to development teams
• Deliver customer service and technical support to users post-implementation

What We're Looking For

• University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or finance
• 5+ years of experience in Defined Benefit pension administration, consulting, and/or implementation
• Strong ability to understand and utilize current computer technologies
• Advanced proficiency with Excel
• Excellent analytical and summarizing skills
• Strong organizational abilities and flexibility in managing multiple concurrent projects
• Initiative and effective problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Proven ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Canada and the United States

Pay

The client's salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 CAD. Final compensation will be determined based on your experience, skills, and performance.
