Regional SEO Team Lead

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital agency seeking a Regional SEO Team Lead based in London. This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for delivering, growing, and ensuring excellence across all SEO services—including Technical SEO, On-Page optimization, and AI-driven optimization (AIO/GEO/LLM)—within a major global region (EMEA & APAC).

You will oversee a regional SEO team, ensuring high-quality delivery within established global frameworks while driving innovation and operational efficiency. This role reports to the Global Director of Digital Strategy and bridges strategic direction with hands-on regional execution.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Leading all SEO delivery across Technical, On-Page, and AI optimization disciplines within your assigned region
• Ensuring all deliverables adhere to global SOPs, quality standards, and best practices
• Collaborating with global and regional counterparts to maintain process alignment and efficiency
• Overseeing regional SEO resourcing, capacity planning, and project prioritization (both in-house and external)
• Ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and according to defined performance metrics
• Driving SEO account growth by identifying upsell opportunities and supporting pre-sales with scoping and proposals
• Managing and mentoring SEO specialists, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture with clear development objectives
• Ensuring alignment between Technical SEO, On-Page, Content, UX/CRO, and Paid Media teams for integrated strategies
• Participating in key client calls, strategy reviews, and quarterly business reviews alongside account teams
• Championing AI and GenAI innovation—encouraging adoption of automation and AI-driven processes to enhance delivery and scalability
• Contributing directly to profitability through margin management, retention efforts, and revenue recognition

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience leading SEO teams in an agency or in-house environment, with proven success delivering technical and on-page SEO at scale
• Deep expertise across Technical SEO, On-Page optimization, and emerging AI/LLM-driven search optimization
• Strong financial acumen: experience managing project budgets, tracking time/markup, and achieving margin targets
• Proven ability to mentor and develop specialists, setting SMART objectives and fostering continuous learning
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with clients at strategic and technical levels
• Experience contributing to SOPs, process development, and cross-functional collaboration in a global organization
• Commercial mindset with a track record of identifying growth opportunities and supporting account retention
• Passion for innovation, particularly around AI tools, automation, and emerging search technologies
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to balance strategic vision and day-to-day execution
• Based in or able to work from London, with flexibility for regional collaboration across time zones
