Solutions Engineer – Pricing Technology & Automation

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential mid-sized clinical research organization seeking a Solutions Engineer – Pricing Technology & Automation to join their Commercial Solutions team. This is a remote position based in the United States.

Our client is advancing a strategic pricing modernization initiative and needs a technically skilled professional to design, implement, and maintain automated pricing systems. This role focuses on future-state development and integration—not legacy ticket support—and offers the chance to lead transformative technology projects that directly impact commercial operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software solutions for pricing automation, data integration, monitoring, and reporting using VBA, SQL, Power Query, APIs, and Microsoft Power Platform
• Lead technical execution of pricing tool modernization and consolidation efforts aligned with enterprise strategy
• Ensure pricing production systems meet service level agreements by analyzing issues and implementing fixes within established governance processes
• Translate user requirements into technical designs appropriate for pricing and automation solutions
• Prepare, review, and approve design documentation and integration specifications for pricing systems and cross-functional data flows
• Perform coding, configuration, formal code reviews, and unit testing to meet delivery timelines and quality standards
• Collaborate with Strategic Finance, Proposal Management, Contracts, and Commercial Operations to coordinate system integrations with platforms such as Salesforce and financial planning tools
• Support testing analysts and business users during formal quality reviews and user acceptance testing
• Maintain audit-ready documentation including Traceability Matrices in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Provide training and support to users of internal pricing tools
• Identify and implement process improvements that reduce manual effort, increase scalability, and strengthen governance

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Analytics, or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Sound working knowledge of one or more: Microsoft toolset (.NET Framework, C#, Visual Studio, advanced VBA); relational databases and SQL; Power Query and Microsoft Power Platform; API/integration technologies; Java; or UNIX (C, C++)
• Demonstrated experience developing and automating pricing, financial, or business process tools using advanced Excel, VBA, SQL, and data transformation techniques
• Familiarity with clinical trials, patient safety, data integrity, and associated regulations
• Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in written and spoken English
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently or within multi-disciplinary teams
• Creativity and adaptability to new technologies, concepts, and processes

Preferred:

• 2+ years in clinical research organizations, study delivery systems, clinical systems development, or comparable business systems/pricing technology development
