About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential manufacturing organization seeking a Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Specialist for a remote position with extensive travel (75%) across their facilities. This role supports operational excellence initiatives by identifying, coordinating, and implementing process improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will assist with operational systems including Vorne, GainSeeker, and eMaint, while supporting Lean initiatives, data collection efforts, and standard work improvements. This position offers significant exposure to diverse manufacturing environments and cross-functional collaboration opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Support continuous improvement projects through project planning, data collection, implementation tracking, and follow-up activities across multiple manufacturing sites
  • Assist with Lean initiatives including 5S, standard work, visual management, waste reduction, root cause analysis, and process improvement activities
  • Provide support for Vorne, GainSeeker, and eMaint systems, including data entry, report generation, user assistance, basic troubleshooting, and system documentation
  • Compile, analyze, and summarize operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and project performance results
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, safety, and cross-functional teams to support improvement activities and sustain implemented changes
  • Create and maintain project documentation, action item trackers, training materials, standard work documents, and continuous improvement records
  • Participate in Kaizen events, problem-solving sessions, audits, and follow-up reviews to drive engagement and accountability
  • Travel up to 75% of the time to manufacturing facilities to observe processes, collect data, support Lean activities, and assist with improvement implementation

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 50-75% of the time (preferred candidate location: Midwest United States)
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, operations, maintenance, quality, or continuous improvement preferred
  • Basic understanding of Lean principles, including 5S, standard work, waste reduction, visual management, and problem-solving methods
  • Experience using or willingness to learn Vorne, GainSeeker, eMaint, and other operational data or maintenance management systems
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and summarize data to support project updates, performance tracking, and improvement decisions
  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and follow-up skills with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, support project timelines, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments with regular plant floor presence
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout production areas for extended periods
  • Willingness to follow site safety requirements and wear appropriate personal protective equipment in manufacturing areas
