Senior Data Engineer (m/w/d) – Snowflake

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Data Engineer to take technical ownership of their data landscape and drive scalable solutions forward.

In this role, you will:

• Take technical responsibility for the data platform and actively develop the Snowflake-based infrastructure
• Build and maintain business-critical data solutions that directly impact core company processes
• Develop the data architecture strategically, ensuring scalability and maintainability
• Design, implement, and optimize high-performance data pipelines with a focus on stability and reliability
• Define and establish company-wide standards for data quality, modeling, and architecture
• Serve as a technical liaison between business stakeholders and other departments, ensuring clear prioritization and execution
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, coaching, and team development
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to continuously evolve the data platform

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone with:

• Technical expertise: Strong experience in data engineering with proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data platforms, particularly Snowflake
• Pipeline development: Proven experience building and operating ETL/ELT processes and efficiently processing large data volumes
• Architecture knowledge: Familiarity with scalable data architectures (Data Lake, Data Warehouse) and data modeling; experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster is ideal
• Cloud platform experience: Background with cloud environments, ideally Azure (in the context of BI/Power BI), plus understanding of AWS structures
• Quality mindset: Strong awareness of building clean, stable, and maintainable data solutions
• Work approach: Structured, independent working style with high quality standards
• Language skills: Excellent German and good English proficiency
• Flexibility: Ability to work effectively in remote or on-site settings
