Senior Python Engineer (Full Stack)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Senior Python Engineer to join their Central Operations technology team in London. Our client is a fast-growing company focused on consumer finance products, and this role offers the chance to build internal tools and automation that directly impact operational efficiency at scale.

The Central Operations team builds web applications and intelligent automation for internal teams who support customers across multiple product lines. You'll work on everything from admin systems to AI-powered tooling that helps operations teams work more efficiently. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in the London office.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship full-stack features for internal web applications used daily by operations teams
• Build robust automations that help operational teams scale without proportional headcount increases
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Analytics teams to deploy AI and LLM solutions where they add genuine value
• Replace or rebuild legacy systems with tailored solutions that better fit evolving business needs
• Contribute to technical direction and architectural decisions within the Central Operations domain
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews
• Experiment with generative AI tools and integrate them pragmatically into operational workflows

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Solid professional experience with Python in web application contexts, including frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Strong engineering fundamentals: design patterns, testing practices, clean code principles, and thoughtful code review skills
• Previous experience working in product-focused engineering teams
• Collaborative mindset with a genuine desire to learn and contribute to team knowledge
• Interest in learning about and experimenting with Generative AI and LLMs (actual experience is a plus but not required)

Beneficial but not required:

• Active use of AI coding tools like Copilot, Cursor, or Claude in daily development work
• Exposure to Domain Driven Design, message-driven systems, and event sourcing
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
• SQL proficiency and comfort navigating complex data schemas
• Experience shipping containerized software using Docker, Kubernetes, Argo, and Terraform
• Strong CSS skills and familiarity with Tailwind
