Analytics Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing climate-tech client in London who is building critical infrastructure for the decarbonised energy system. They operate software that intelligently controls energy assets across the UK, and they need an Analytics Engineer to sit at the heart of their operational processes.

This is a high-impact role where you'll own daily trading operations, debug complex data issues across energy markets, and build the data pipelines that power business-critical analytics. You'll be working at the intersection of energy trading, data engineering, and climate impact.

Responsibilities

• Own daily operations for UK energy trading, including daily trading processes and settlement reviews
• Debug complex edge cases across trading, asset registration, and settlement workflows
• Build and maintain data pipelines using SQL and Python to power operational analytics
• Identify revenue and delivery risks proactively and drive mitigation strategies
• Communicate data insights and recommended actions clearly to engineering and commercial stakeholders
• Build relationships with key external stakeholders including Distribution System Operators and UK market regulators
• Develop deep expertise in UK flexibility markets and energy trading mechanics

What We're Looking For

• Strong SQL and Python skills for data analysis, issue investigation, and process automation
• Excellent analytical capabilities—you should be comfortable working with MW, kWh, and financial metrics daily
• Genuine motivation to tackle climate change through your work
• Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where priorities shift quickly
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate technical findings for diverse audiences
• Right to work in the UK (this role is based in London with hybrid working, 2-3 days per week in office near Farringdon)

Pay
