About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential specialty pharmacy organization seeking a Director, Provider Relations (RPh) to join their growing commercial leadership team. This is a strategic role responsible for developing and executing the vision for provider engagement, operations, account management, and support functions. You'll work closely with senior leadership to drive growth, retention, and long-term partnerships with physician practices, health systems, and provider organizations.

Location: Remote (United States, with some geographic restrictions)

Travel: Up to 40% for provider meetings, executive business reviews, and industry events

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute provider relations strategy aligned with enterprise growth objectives and market expansion initiatives
  • Lead and oversee account management, provider support operations, and provider engagement functions
  • Serve as Executive Sponsor for key provider organizations, physician-owned clinics, and health systems
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with physician executives, practice owners, and health system leadership
  • Lead executive business reviews to assess performance, identify opportunities, and align growth initiatives
  • Act as primary executive liaison between provider organizations and leadership, ensuring provider perspectives inform strategic planning
  • Analyze provider performance metrics, referral trends, and market dynamics to recommend growth strategies
  • Collaborate with pharmacy operations, clinical services, implementation teams, and sales leadership for consistent provider experience
  • Develop and maintain CRM vendor relations and support vendor selection activities
  • Own departmental budgeting, workforce planning, and resource allocation
  • Provide executive-level reporting, market intelligence, and growth recommendations to senior leadership
  • Represent the organization at provider meetings, executive forums, and industry conferences

What We're Looking For

Education & Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required; MBA, MHA, or Master's in Business/Healthcare Administration preferred
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Pharmacist licensure in state of residence (or ability to gain reciprocity within 4 months)
  • Advanced training in healthcare leadership, provider relations, or business strategy preferred

Experience:

  • 8+ years progressive experience in specialty pharmacy, healthcare services, provider relations, account management, or healthcare business development
  • 5+ years leadership experience managing leaders of others and multiple business functions in healthcare
  • 3+ years sales leadership experience, including leading sales teams and strategy
  • Proven track record in growth initiatives, market expansion, account retention, and revenue-generating programs
  • Experience working with executive leaders to develop and execute strategic business plans

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy operations, provider workflows, referral management, reimbursement models, and patient access programs
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, analytics, forecasting tools, and business intelligence reporting
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and translate insights into strategic recommendations
  • Established relationships within specialty pharmacy, provider organizations, or health systems preferred
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at the executive level
